We are proud and delighted that Cardigan Castle has won Channel 4’s Great British Buildings: Restoration of the Year, presented by Kevin McCloud and Dr Anna Keay.
The scheme, for which we acted as Project Manager, went on to win the overall Restoration of the Year title, having won the Georgian building category in the first episode of the programme.
Completing in summer 2015, the £12.5m project involved the repair, conservation and upgrading of six listed buildings and repairing the castle’s curtain walls.
New Catering Facilities and a Restaurant were created in a new, contemporary building, sympathetic to their surroundings.
Judges commented that the Castle had gone from an “eyesore to Landmark” and we are incredibly proud of everyone involved.
