Saturday 15th June 2019 saw our Health & Safety / CDM Advisor Mark Steeden and Callum Davies (Assistant Quantity Surveyor) complete their volunteering at Leybourne St Peters and St Pauls primary school in Kent in support of the schools “make a difference” day initiative.
A group of volunteers/parents were drafted in to help on various jobs in and around the school. The reception garden required a makeover but the main area of concern was the main garden and the pathway to the forest school. It was very overgrown and needed some TLC. Armed with various power tools the volunteers attacked the weeds and trees and cleared the way.
Throughout the day Mark was helped by his son who was working safely (as you would expect from a Health and Safety Advisor!).
‘My daughter currently attends Leybourne Primary School and is currently in Year 6 and to give something back to the school which has looked after your daughter for the last 7 years is fantastic. On top of this Callum will hopefully have his daughter attend the school in the future so it was also beneficial to have him helping’
The end result was a garden area that the students could now use for picnics and potentially outdoor classes moving forward.
Well done Mark and Callum!
