Carlisle City Council – Carlisle Old Town Hall Phase 1&2

Town Hall Refurbishment for Carlisle City Council

Baker Mallett provided Quantity Surveying and Cost Management Services for Phases 1 & 2 of this restoration project to a Grade I Listed Building. Carlisle Old Town Hall is a prominent building at the heart of the City Centre, used multi-functionally by the local public and tourists for events.

The restoration works, split into 2 phases, included:

Phase 1 – The repair and restoration of the external elevations of the building including works to the clock tower.

Phase 2 – The modernisation of the interior including provision of DDA compliant access to the first floor, upgrade of the Tourist Information facility and opening up the historic assembly room area for use as a function room, whilst retaining the listed features.
