Baker Mallett were appointed by English Heritage to provide full pre and post contact Quantity Surveying services on the re-roofing works completed at Wrest Park Bowling Green House.
The project involved the stripping and re-roofing of the tiled pitched roofs and associated carpentry and leadwork to the Bowling Green House on the Wrest Park Estate.
The Bowling Green House is an 18th Century Bowling Pavilion located within the confines of Wrest Park Country House and Estate.
To deal with water ingress issues the entire roof was stripped, consisting of both a tiled pitch roof and leadwork to the flat roof areas. As part of the work the roof void was cleaned and timber repairs undertaken including introduction of steelwork braces to strengthen the roof structure. Limited works were also undertaken to the above ground drainage elements of the building.
Repair work was also undertaken to the ornamental balustrades and urns around the perimeter of the building as well as a fall arrest system being installed to facilitate safe future maintenance.
